My name is Melanie and I’m a yoga instructor in Vancouver
In 2018, after spending over 15 years working in finance, I retired from banking, moved home to Vancouver to pursue a more meaningful and balanced lifestyle. I have since become a yoga instructor and co-founded a new luxury wellness travel company, Movement Travel.
I began practicing yoga in 2003 and was fortunate enough then to have an incredible instructor who took the time to explain and demonstrate the proper foundation of a pose, how to connect movement to our breath and how this should feel in our bodies. My teaching style very much reflects this style.
I have never been incredibly flexible. Practicing yoga has helped increase both my mobility and stability but I’m still far from throwing my leg over my head. My classes are designed to be inclusive, offering clear cues for beginners, options for those who are less flexible and more challenging progressions for advanced practitioners so that everyone can receive the full experience of this moving meditation.
I teach several styles of yoga including; Hatha, Vinyasa, Power and Yin and my intention is to encourage each practitioner to move and challenge both their mind and body in a way that makes them feel good…while listening to some great tunes.
